BuyerBids Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BuyerBids, operated by Buyer Network LLC ("BuyerBids," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the BuyerBids marketplace at buyerbids.io and its related dashboard and services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here.

BuyerBids is a marketplace where home-improvement contractors ("Contractors," "you") browse, bid on, and purchase confirmed, verified in-home appointments with homeowners ("Homeowners").

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you register as a Contractor, we collect your name, business/company name, email address, and a password (stored only as a secure hash). You may optionally provide a phone number, business details, and profile information.

Wallet and payment information. To fund your wallet and pay for appointments you win, you provide payment details to our third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers; card data is handled by the processor (for example, Stripe) under its own terms and privacy policy. We retain records of wallet balances, top-ups, deductions, bids, purchases, and any credits issued to your account.

Marketplace activity. We collect the bids you place, appointments you buy or win, wallet transactions, credits, and related timestamps and metadata.

No-show credit-back submissions. If you request a no-show credit, we collect the proof you submit — including photos and/or video files and their embedded metadata (such as timestamps and, where present, device or location data) — along with your written description and the attestations you make. This media is stored in a private, access-controlled location.

Homeowner information (handled on the Platform). To operate the marketplace, we process Homeowner personal information, which may include name, home address, phone number, email address, property details, project scope, and recorded telephone calls confirming the appointment. Contact details for a specific appointment are disclosed to the Contractor only after that Contractor wins or buys that appointment. Homeowner call recordings are made and used to verify appointments and let Contractors assess intent before bidding.

Automatically collected data. When you use the Platform, we collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and interaction events, via cookies and similar technologies.

Communications. If you contact support or receive notifications, we retain the content and metadata of those communications.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • create and manage your account and authenticate your sign-ins;
  • operate the marketplace — display listings, process bids and Buy-It-Now purchases, run auctions, and unlock Homeowner contact details to the winning Contractor;
  • verify and confirm appointments before they go live, including reviewing call recordings;
  • process wallet funding, deduct funds when you win or buy, and issue or apply account credits;
  • review no-show credit-back requests and the proof submitted, and communicate our decision;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms;
  • send transactional and service messages (bid outcomes, purchase confirmations, credit decisions, security notices) and, where permitted, updates about the Platform;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

3. How we share information

With the winning Contractor. When you win or buy an appointment, we disclose the associated Homeowner's contact and appointment details to you so you can attend the appointment. You may use this information only to service that appointment, consistent with our Terms and applicable law.

With payment processors. We share the information needed to process wallet funding and transactions with our payment processor.

With service providers. We use trusted vendors for hosting, database, authentication, storage, analytics, and communications. They may process information on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.

For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests and legal process, protect the rights, property, and safety of BuyerBids, our users, or others, and to investigate fraud or violations of our Terms.

Business transfers. If BuyerBids is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information for money. If any sharing is treated as a "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising under applicable law, we will provide the required notice and opt-out mechanism.

4. Call recordings

Appointment-confirmation calls with Homeowners are recorded and stored to verify appointments and to let Contractors judge Homeowner intent before bidding. Where required by law, recording is conducted with appropriate notice and/or consent. Recordings are treated as confidential and are made available within the Platform only as needed to operate the marketplace.

5. No-show proof media

Proof you submit for a credit-back request (photos/video and their metadata) is stored in a private, access-restricted location and is accessible only to you and to authorized BuyerBids reviewers for the purpose of evaluating your request, preventing fraud, and maintaining records of the decision. We retain this media for as long as needed to administer the credit program and to comply with our legal and record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Platform, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality. We honor applicable browser-based opt-out signals where required.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, then for the period required to comply with legal, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, and fraud-prevention obligations. Transaction, wallet, bid, purchase, and credit records may be retained longer for financial and audit purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, row-level security on our database, and private storage for sensitive files. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your account by using a strong, unique password and keeping your credentials confidential.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and to appeal a decision about your request. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@buyerbids.io. We will verify your request and respond as required by applicable law. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

  • California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you may request disclosure, deletion, and correction of your personal information and opt out of "sale"/"sharing" as defined by law. We do not knowingly sell personal information.
  • EEA/UK residents (GDPR): our legal bases for processing include performance of a contract, legitimate interests (operating and securing the marketplace, preventing fraud), consent (where applicable, such as certain cookies), and legal obligations. You may have rights to object, restrict, and port your data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

You can also update your account details in the dashboard and manage notification preferences.

10. Homeowners

If you are a Homeowner and have questions about how your information (including your appointment details and call recording) is used or shared with Contractors, contact us at hello@buyerbids.io. We handle Homeowner information in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.

11. Children's privacy

The Platform is intended for businesses and users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. International users

BuyerBids is operated in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the U.S. and other locations with different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
